Stellenbosch FC coach Steve Barker says his side are relishing the chance to take on AS Otohô in their CAF Confederation Cup Group C opening on Sunday.

Stellies have been pitted in Group C alongside the likes of CR Belouizdad, AS Otohô, and Singida Black Stars.

The Maroons were initially supposed to play this match at the DHL Stadium, but due to its unavailability, the match will now be played at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.

The match at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium is set to take place on Sunday, with kick-off at 15:00.

“It’s very exciting to get our CAF Confederation Cup campaign underway,” Barker told his club’s official website.

“…Everybody is raring to go and we’re looking forward to hosting our opposition AS Otohô, and to getting off to a good start by winning this home match because I think that will also be key in this competition.

“There’s a lot of enthusiasm, and we’ve had a good preparation period during the FIFA break.

“We were able to work on improving a lot of things, which we can hopefully apply this coming Sunday.”
