Morocco and Paris Saint-Germain defender Achraf Hakimi has been named as the Men’s Player of the Year at the 2025 CAF Awards.
The Moroccan defender won this prestigious award ahead of Liverpool star Mohamed Salah and Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen.
Pyramids FC beat the likes of Mamelodi Sundowns, Orlando Pirates, and Stellenbosch FC to the Club of the Year award.
The Moroccan U20 national team was named the Men’s National Team of the Year, ahead of Bafana Bafana, Algeria, Cape Verde, Côte d’Ivoire, Egypt, Ghana, Morocco, Senegal, and Tunisia.
Othmane Maamma fended off competition from Orlando Pirates captain Mbekezeli Mbokazi and Queens Park Rangers defender Tylon Smith to win the Young Player of the Year award.
Meanwhile, Yassine Bounou walked away with the Men’s Goalkeeper of the Year award, beating Bafana Bafana and Mamelodi Sundowns captain Ronwen Williams to the award.
