Amajimbos booked their place in the FIFA U17 World Cup knockout stage despite suffering a 3-1 defeat against Italy in their final Group A clash on Sunday.

The Italians got off to the perfect start and opened the scoring in the fourth minute through a goal from Samuele Inacio.

South Africa managed to draw the game level in the 32nd minute after Shaun Els found the back of the net to make it 1-1.

Italy responded by scoring two goals in three minutes in the second half through goals from Inacio, who completed his double, and Antonio Arena to help their side walk away with all three points.

The win saw Italy secure the top spot in Group A with nine points from three games, while Amajimbos finished in second place with four points from three games.

Italy and South Africa have both qualified for the next round of the World Cup as the top teams in their group.
