Nadine de Klerk produced a sensational performance to lead the Proteas Women to a thrilling three-wicket victory over India in the Women’s World Cup on Thursday.
South Africa won the toss and elected to bowl first, as India scored 251 runs at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Visakhapatnam.
The Proteas got off to a slow start and were 81-5 after 20 overs, but they turned things around. Laura Wolvaardt scored 70 runs, while Chloe Tryon made 49 runs.
But it was De Klerk who stole the show after she smashed an unbeaten 84 runs from 54 balls to guide South Africa to a three-wicket victory.

South Africa will look to maintain their current momentum when it faces the Bangladesh Women in its next World Cup encounter at the ACA-VDCA Stadium on Monday, 13 October.
