Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos is confident his side can beat Lesotho when they meet at the Dr Molemela Stadium in their World Cup Group C qualifier on Friday.
South Africa will face Lesotho at the Free State Stadium on Friday, 5 September 2025.
The South African national team will follow that fixture up with a mouth-watering encounter against Nigeria at the same venue on Tuesday, 9 September 2025.
Hugo Broos’ men will come into these two fixtures sitting at the top of Group C with 13 points from six matches, having won four, drawn one and lost one.
“We are still strong enough to beat Lesotho, but again, we have to focus and we have to concentrate,” Broos said.
“We have to reach our level best, and we have to fight.
“Playing a good game of football is okay when we can do it, why shouldn’t we do it, but let’s start from the first game, from the first minute and fight for every second, for every square metre on the pitch and try to win that game.
“It would be a very good situation for us if we could win the game on Friday.”
