Orlando Pirates midfielder Abdoulaye Mariko feels blessed to be part of such a prestigious club like the Buccaneers.

The Malian international joined the Buccaneers on a permanent deal after parting ways with Djoliba AC.

The 23-year-old midfielder recently made his debut for the Soweto giants during their 2-0 win over Polokwane City in the MTN8 quarter-finals.

Mariko is looking to leave a lasting impression during his time at Pirates while showing his passion and commitment to the club’s success.

“At that moment, I was filled with gratitude and determination. I thought about all the sacrifices it took to get there,” Mariko told his club’s official website.

“I was mentally preparing myself, ready to seize the opportunity and show what I’m capable of.

“Playing for Orlando Pirates is more than just football, it’s about representing a legacy.

“It means discipline, honour, and a commitment to excellence. I feel blessed to be part of such a prestigious club.”

“To the fans, I want to say thank you for the warm welcome and your support. You can expect me to always give 100%, with passion and commitment in every match. I will work hard to make you proud and help the team achieve its goals.”
