Orlando Pirates coach Abdeslam Ouaddou understands the pressure and expectations of being at the helm of the Buccaneers but is ready to meet the club’s objectives this season.
The Buccaneers got their MTN8 title defence off to a great start after they secured a 2-0 victory over Polokwane City at the Orlando Stadium on Saturday.
Goals from Oswin Appollis and Patrick Maswanganyi saw the Soweto giants advance to the semi-finals, where they will take on Mamelodi Sundowns.
Ouaddou aims to maintain the momentum at the club following their achievements over the last three seasons.
“I must say, when you put your feet into such a big club, not only in South Africa, but on the continent, of course, the board doesn’t bring you here just to chill,” Ouaddou told SuperSport after the game.
“I know the expectation of the fans, I know the expectation of the board and of course, I will do my best to try to reach these targets.
“The players did a very good job over the last three years. So let’s keep going, let’s keep going. We have a big challenge this season.”
