Banyana Banyana eased their way into the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) quarter-finals following their 4-0 victory over Mali at the Honneur Stadium in Oujda, Morocco.

South Africa opened the scoring in the fourth minute when Lebohang Ramalepe found the back of the net to make it 1-0.

Captain Refiloe Jane doubled her side’s lead in the 31st when she found the net with a curling free-kick.

The South Africans continued to dominate the game and added a third goal on the hour mark through a goal from Hildah Magaia.

Banyana put the game to bed in the 78th minute when substitute Ronnel Donnelly completed a memorable night for the South Africans.

Dr Desiree Ellis and her squad will now advance to the quarter-finals as they continue their defence of the title.
