Bayern Munich advanced to the Club World Cup quarter-finals after a thrilling 4-2 win over Flamengo at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida.

The German giants broke the deadlock as early as the sixth minute when Erick Pulgar headed the ball into the back of his own net to hand Bayern the lead.

Bayern doubled their lead three minutes later when Harry Kane unleashed a strike from outside the box to find the bottom corner to make it 2-0.

Flamengo managed to pull a goal back in the 33rd minute when Gerson unleashed a thunderous effort to fire the ball into the back of the net from just inside the area.

Bayern restored their two-goal lead in the 41st minute when Leon Goretzka found space outside the back to guide the ball past the Flamengo keeper to make it 3-1 as the game went into the break with Bayern leading.

Flamengo were then awarded a penalty in the 53rd minute when Michael Olise was adjudged to have handled the ball in the area. Jorginho stepped up and made no mistake from the spot-kick with his trademark penalty kick.

The Bundesliga side responded and grabbed their fourth goal in the 73rd minute as Kane completed his double with an expertly taken strike after he was picked out by Joshua Kimmich.

Vincent Kompany’s men held on to the final whistle to secure a 4-2 victory over the Brazlians side to secure their spot in the quarter-finals.
