Al Ahly SC have confirmed the appointment of former Orlando Pirates boss Jose Riveiro as their new head coach.
The Spanish tactician was in the dugout for the final time after guiding Pirates to a 3-0 victory over Golden Arrows at the Orlando Stadium on Tuesday evening.
Riveiro has been in charge of 131 games, winning 82 games, drawing 22 and conceding 27 defeats in the process.
The 49-year-old mentor has won five trophies in his three-year stint, winning three MTN8 titles and two Nedbank Cup trophies, while finishing as runners-up in the Betway Premiership during the 2022–23 and 2023–24 seasons.
The Egyptian giants have since confirmed the appointment of the Spanish tactician as the club’s new head coach as they prepare for the 2025-26 season.
