Orlando Pirates have confirmed the departure of Miguel Timm, while captain Innocent Maela has retired from professional football.

Miguel Timm

Miguel Timm joined the Buccaneers from Marumo Gallants in July 2022 and created one assist in 66 appearances across all competitions.

Although his three-season stint at the club was plagued with injury, Timm won four trophies at Pirates, including two Nedbank Cup trophies and two MTN8 titles.

“Thank you, Miguel Timm for every tackle, every pass, and every battle fought,” Pirates posted on social media.

“Wishing you all the best.

“Once.Always.”

Innocent Maela

Innocent Maela joined the club back in July 2017 when he made the switch from Thanda Royal Zulu (now Richards Bay) and went on to feature 208 times, while scoring six goals and creating a further 12.

Maela has since announced his retirement from professional football at the age of 32 but the former captain will remain at the club in another capacity.

The 32-year-old has won eight trophies, including four MTN8 titles, two Nedbank Cups and a Black Label Cup.

“From a boy with a dream to the Captain of the ship,” Pirates posted.

“@Decocr7Maela, you lived the dream and led with pride.

“Thank you for the memories, the moments, and the legacy.

“Once.Always”
