Mamelodi Sundowns coach Miguel Cardoso says he is not worried about who scores for his team following their victory over Stellenbosch FC.
The Brazilians claimed their fourth consecutive win in the Betway Premiership after their comfortable 3-0 win over Stellies in Pretoria on Sunday.
Lucas Ribeiro Costa opened the scoring for the home side in the sixth minute, while Iqraam Rayners doubled their lead six minutes later before Arthur Sales netted Sundowns’ third goal five minutes later at the Lucas Moripe Stadium.
The win sees Sundowns remain at the top of the league standings with 67 points from 26 matches, 15 points ahead of second placed Orlando Pirates.
Stellies, meanwhile, remain in fourth place on the log with 44 points, having won 12, drawn eight and conceded six defeats in 26 matches.
“What is important that we saw Iqraam (Rayerns), Tashreeq (Matthews), Lucas (Riberio Costa), Arthur (Sales), even Thapelo (Morena) when he entered, he was in a good level,” he said on SuperSport TV.
“It’s important the team produces football and then the goals will flourish. I don’t worry about players that score or don’t score.
“I’d be worried if the players inside the pitch don’t work for the team in order for the team to score and that has been happening.
“Lucas today also made a wonderful pass for Rayners for the goal. This is the spirit we have, the balance we have, and having written on our shirt Ubuntu, it means that we work as a team and not individuals.
“So, I’m always happy when we score when they play together and then we enjoy football, that’s the most important thing.”
