Mamelodi Sundowns have confirmed that midfielder Lindokuhle Mbatha contract has been terminated by the club by mutual consent.

The 31-year-old spent half of last season on loan at Mpumalanga Black Aces and could only feature a total of nine times for Amazayoni in all competitions with his contract set to expire at the end of the 2016-17 season.

The former Platinum Stars midfielder was set to expire at the end of the 2016-17 season prior to the termination of his contract at Chloorkop.

An official at Chloorkop has confirmed that Mbatha has parted ways with the club after both parties agreed to terminate the midfielder’s contract.

‘Mbatha is no longer with us. He has left the club after we reached an agreement to terminate his contract,’ a Sundowns official said.

Over the course of his career, Mbatha has netted three goals and has assisted 11 goals from 115 appearances in all competitions playing for the likes of Black Aces, Dikwena, and Sundowns.
