Cape Town City captain Thamsanqa Mkhize has revealed that new signing Tokelo Rantie has settled in well at the club after returning to South African, writes DYLAN APPOLIS.

The 28-year-old forward recently joined the Citizens on a free transfer having parted ways with Turkish outfit Genclerbirligi in January 2018.

Rantie brings a wealth of experience to the club, having previously played for Orlando Pirates in the PSL, Malmo in Sweden, Bournemouth in England and Genclerbirligi in Turkey.

Speaking on Rantie’s progress at the club under coach Benni McCarthy, Mkhize insists that ‘He has done well.’

The City captain went on to says that he has been impressed with the teams improvement so far this campaign while reserving special praise for the clubs new comers, who he believes are showing ambition to make history with the club.

‘I think whoever is responsible for building this puzzle and for building our team has been doing well. Whoever they are bringing in is doing well,’ Mkhize said.

‘Even the players that joined us this season have done well, they have raised their hands and showed that they want to be part of the team. They want to make history with this club.

‘The good thing about this is that you can see we a group of ambitious players, who are willing to improve under coach Benni McCarthy.’

Cape Town City will welcome Kaizer Chiefs to Cape Town Stadium when the two side’s go head-to-head in a mouth-watering Absa Premiership encounter on Saturday with kick off set for 3pm.
