Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane believes that it’s about time that his side benefited from a refereeing error adding that he will gladly accept another helping hand in Saturday’s Telkom Knockout final.

Downs were awarded a dubious penalty in their 2-1 Absa Premiership win over Stellenbosch FC on Wednesday night, when Themba Zwane was given a spot kick despite replays showing that he wasn’t touched by the defender.

Mosimane has been vocal in recent weeks as he has complained about log leaders Kazier Chiefs ‘benefitting’ from the error prone referees this campaign.

But on Wednesday after his side’s victory Mosimane was asked if side had benefited from an error from the match official.

‘If we benefitted, why not? It’s about time. I shrug my shoulder – I even want an offside (goal) on Saturday,’ Mosimane, referring to the Telkom Knockout final against Maritzburg United in Durban, told reporters.

‘And I will lift the trophy gladly. No problem. It’s the way it is at this point and I will take it. If I benefitted, we can minus it and we still stay on 2-1,’ added the former Bafana Bafana coach.

Downs will take on Maritzburg United in the TKO final at the Moses Mabhida on Saturday with kick-off at 6pm.
