Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane is saddened by Milutin Sredojevic’s Orlando Pirates departure because the Serbian kept pushing him to be better.

Sredojevic, affectionately know as Micho, stepped down from his position as Pirates head coach on Friday night, citing personal issues as the reason.

It has since been reported that Micho’s mother is battling breast cancer, which was affecting the Serbian tactician. However, Micho has also been spotted in Cairo where he is reportedly set to finalise a deal with Egyptian giants Zamalek despite the coach denying said reports.

Speaking about Micho’s departure on Saturday, Mosimane said that he learnt a lot from the Serbian coach.

‘You know when you have someone keeping you on your toes, pushing you? That’s how I felt about Micho. He pushed me hard for two years. I’ve known him for many, many years when he was still a coach in Uganda,’ said Mosimane.

‘We had a healthy rivalry. I’m saddened by him leaving because we had a very good competition. l learned a lot from him. Unlike me, he’s calm. He knows how to handle a loss,’ concluded the Mamelodi Sundowns boss.
