Aarhus GF winger Gift Links wants to follow in Bafana Bafana international Percy Tau’s footsteps and play in the Uefa Champions League.

The former Cape Town City winger managed secured a move abroad to Danish Superligaen side Aarhus GF one day before the South African transfer window closed.

However, Links is yet to link up with his new teammates in Denmark as he is currently in camp with the South African U23 national team.

The 20-year-old insists that he would like to realise his dream of playing in Europe’s biggest club competition like former Mamelodi Sundowns star Tau, who will be making his debut in the Champions League with Belgian outfit Club Brugge.

‘That’s my dream. If I get the opportunity to play in the Uefa Champions League, it would be great,’ Links said.

‘I’ve followed Percy Tau for long, since he was playing for Sundowns. It’s amazing the things he is doing overseas because a player from South Africa goes overseas and adapts so quickly.

‘It’s amazing, so I’ll go to that side and work hard and hope things work out for me.’

Over the course of his career, Links has scored five goals and assisted a further five from 58 appearances in all competitions playing for the likes of Platinum Stars, Pyramids FC and Cape Town City.
