Golden Arrows have confirmed the return of Steve Komphela after appointing him as their new head coach.

Komphela has now returned to Abafana Bes’thende for his second stint, having previously been at the helm of the club between December 2018 and October 2020.

The 56-year-old spent seven months at Moroka Swallows but parted ways with the Dube Birds at the beginning of the year after their financial turmoils.

Komphela will now once again be in the dugout when they take on Polokwane City at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium on Sunday.

Abafana Bes’thende currently occupy 12th place on the DStv Premiership table with 23 points from 19 matches, having won seven, drew two, and conceded 10 defeats so far this season.

“Lamontville Golden Arrows Welcomes back Coach Steve Komphela, who is no stranger to the club, the values and culture of the club,” Arrows announced on social media.

“We look forward to his knowledge and guidance as we seek to finish the season strong.

“Welcome back Steve.”
