SuperSport United defender Clayton Daniels has rubbished fears that his side are burning out ahead of a footballing schedule which sees them compete in the CAF Confederation Cup and the Nedbank Cup final respectively.

Matsatsantsa face TP Mazembe in the second leg of their group stage Confedration Cup tie on Tuesday evening at the Lucas Moripe Stadium, and will need to overturn the 2-2 scoreline that they garnered against the Congolese giants if they are to progress in the competitions.

Eric Tinkler’s side will also look to retain the Nedbank Cup when they face Orlando Pirates in a repeat of last year’s final on Saturday at the Moses Mabhdia Stadium, with kickoff scheduled for 20:15.

Despite their busy schedule, coupled with the fact that a number of their players have been on international duty the past week , Daniels is adamant that SuperSport have what it takes to compete at both levels without it hurting them.

‘No, we are not worried [about burning out]. We trust the management,’ he told KickOff.

‘I think the [SuperSport United] management is working around the clock to find the right balance between training and off days because we’ve seen what happened to other teams,’ he concluded.
