Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane insists that his side are looking to maintain their own consistency ahead of their Tshwane derby against SuperSport United.

The Brazilians will travel to the Lucas Moripe Stadium when they face SuperSport in the first leg semi-final of the MTN8.

The return leg is scheduled to take place two weeks later following the conclusion of the international break.

‘We are playing a very tough opponent and it’s a local derby. It’s never easy. We play a team on form, a team that has showed that they have resistance against us, they proved to be tough opponents against Orlando Pirates and showed resistance against Kaizer Chiefs,’ Mosimane said in the build-up to the clash.

Sundowns will take on United in the second installment of the Tshwane derby, having already faced off once this campaign with Mosimane’s side coming out on top following their 2-0 victory in their Absa Premiership opener through goals from Sibusiso Vilakazi and Themba Zwane.

‘They are a strong team,’ Mosimane said of Kaitano Tembo’s team.

‘But we hope we do well because it is an away game for us and if we can score it will give us an advantage. But we should also not concede goals. So we don’t have to be too emotional in the first game because we still have a chance to correct things in the second game. But at the same time sometimes you need to take the game earlier than waiting for the second game. We are looking for our own consistency as well.’
