Mamelodi Sundowns captain Ronwen Williams is hoping his side’s experience in the CAF Champions League final will help the team get stronger and better.
The Brazilians were unable to secure a second continental star after they suffered a 3-2 defeat on aggregate against Pyramid FC in the final of the CAF Champions League.
Williams will now lead his team when they participate in the FIFA Club World Cup, where they have been pitted against Borussia Dortmund, Fluminense and Ulsan in Group F.
The Sundowns captain remains positive and hopeful that their experience in the continental competitions will help them grow strong heading into the competition.
“There are so many lessons we can take out of the defeat and obviously we didn’t have time to think and no process at all but the home game is important,” Williams said
“You should always make sure you don’t concede at home, make sure that you one foot in front, especially going away in the second leg and the away goal is an important factor in the CAF Champions League.
“I think we learnt a lot of lessons, a lot of valuable lessons that can hopefully help us grow as a team and become stronger and better.”
