Orlando Pirates coach Mandla Mcikazi says that while it is frustrating to watch the side struggle in front of goal, the coaching staff needs to stay focused and look for light in the darkness.

The Soweto giants have struggled to score goals this season with a scoring rate of one per game after netting 11 times in 11 matches.

After this dry spell, the Buccaneers dropped a number of points to sit seventh on the log – eleven points behind league-leaders Mamelodi Sundowns, who also have a game in hand.

Speaking to the Pirates media department ahead of his side’s clash  with Stellenbosch on Wednesday, Nckiazi admitted that it has been frustrating but they are looking at solutions.

“One of us is going to have a heart attack very soon – hopefully not. It’s frustrating but, again, as a coach you have to see light where everyone else sees darkness. We have to be there for the players and try to find solutions of trying to solve this problem,” Ncikazi said post-match.

“I think we have a capacity to solve it, we must solve it soon. The next match is just here, Stellenbosch, not an easy match away but we have to put the ball in the net, even if it means the score is 4-3 but as long as Pirates have scored more than the opponents, I think that’s important,” he added.
