SuperSport United midfielder Reneilwe Letsholonyane says playing against a team of TP Mazembe’s calibre in the final of the Caf Confederation Cup is an achievement for him and the club.

Matsatsantsa will be hoping to overturn their 2-1 deficit when they welcome Mazembe to the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Saturday.

Letsholonyane admits that winning the African continental competition would be a personal achievement for him and the club, especially taking on the defending champions in the final.

‘It is very different. It’s a continental cup final. It’s not a local cup final where you play against teams that you play against all the time,’ Letsholonyane told KickOff.com.

‘Now we are playing against one of the best teams on the continent and they are the defending champions of this competition. So winning against such a team would be an achievement for me personally and for the club as a whole.

‘The reason we play football or any sport is to compete in such games. Realising those dreams is something huge, so I am very excited and honoured to be part of this SuperSport group that is going to play in the final.’

The 35-year-old says his side have everything to play for in the second leg, despite claiming an away goal in the first leg of the final.

‘It was a good result in the first leg. I think my teammates played well in the first leg, considering the conditions. They fought very hard and I am proud of them,’ he added.

‘That away goal means that we have everything to play for. Yes, they have an advantage because if it finishes 0-0 then they obviously win. So we need to push to get the first goal and then it will be an open game because we will be the ones having an advantage.’

SuperSport United against TP Mazembe kicks off at 20:15.
