Stellenbosch FC have continued to build on their squad after acquiring the services of defender Henri Stanic.
Stanic joins the club on a permanent basis after parting ways with Maltese Premier League side Balzan Football Club.
The Belgian defender brings a wealth of experience, having previously played for Anderlecht U18, OH Leuven U21, FK Liepaja, FK Jerv, and Balzan FC.
The 22-year-old has managed to net nine goals in 68 appearances across all competitions throughout his career.
Stanic becomes the fourth signing behind striker Muzomuhle Khanyi, Siviwe Nkwali, and Simthandile Sishi.
“I’m very grateful and excited to be here,” Stanic said after joining Stellenbosch’s pre-season camp in Johannesburg.
“The team has already welcomed me very well, and I’m looking forward to the season ahead.
“The project at Stellenbosch FC is what attracted me to come to South Africa. I spoke to several people at the club, and I really like the project that is being worked on.
“I’m also looking forward to playing in the domestic championship [the Betway Premiership] and to showcasing my talent in the country.
“I will fight for the badge and give 100% for the team. I am still young, and I have ambitions that I hope to achieve with the club.
“It will also be my first time playing in a big competition like the CAF Confederation Cup.
“Last season, Stellenbosch reached the semi-finals, and I believe we can do even better this time around,” he concluded.
