South African Football Association (Safa) president Danny Jordaan says Mamelodi Sundowns owner Patrice Motsepe understands he will have to step away from his ownership role at the club if he is elected as the Confederation of African Football (Caf) president in next year’s election.

Safa: We don’t want to be blamed for Covid-19 deaths like Ellis Park disaster

The South African Football Association (Safa) says it has to make sure that the Premier Soccer League has complied with coronavirus protocols because the association is not willing to accept the liability of a rushed restart, adding that it had learned from the Ellis Park disaster and don’t want to lose lives.
