Dino Ndlovu impressed as he scored his first league goal for his new club this past weekend in another mixed week for SA stars in Europe.

Ndlovu started the match for his Qarabag side in Azerbaijan and played the full 90 minutes as they earned a convincing 3-0 victory over Sumqayit on Saturday. The Bafana Bafana star put the icing on the cake in extra time as he netted his club’s third goal of the afternoon, a fine reward for his good performance.

Over in Denmark, there was much frustration for Lebogang Phiri’s Brondby side as they lost further ground to league leaders Copenhagen following a 1-1 draw with Nordsjaelland. Phiri played the full 90 minutes in the tie but could do little to influence the result.

It was a similar story for Kamohelo Mokotjo in the Dutch Eredivisie as Twente played out a 2-2 draw with PEC Zwolle on Sunday. Mokotjo lasted the full duration of the game but could not inspire his side to victory, as they remaied seventh on the table.

Meanwhile, there was defeat for Ntuthuko Radebe and his Eupen side in the Belgian Pro League on Saturday as they fell to a 4-2 loss at the hands of Waasland-Beveren. Radebe managed 82 minutes on the pitch before being subbed off later on.

Finally, Steven Pienaar returned from injury for his Premier League outfit Sunderland as he was subbed on in the 55th minute, but the veteran midfielder could do little to turn the tide of the contest as his side were beaten 2-0 by Stoke City.
