German midfielder Mesut Ozil will reportedly extend his Arsenal contract if two conditions are met by the London club.

According to Bild, Ozil is ready to put pen to paper to a two-year extension with the club looking to tie the World Cup winner down to three more years at the Emirates.

The London club are desperate to keep Ozil at the club beyond 2018 when his current deal expires especially in light of his recent performances including a starring role in the 3-0 win over rivals Chelsea.

Ozil, who is set to take his earnings from €160k per week to around €230k a week, is reportedly chasing the ‘Number 10’ jersey, currently worn by on-loan midfielder Jack Wilshere.

The second condition relates to Ozil’s desire for the Gunners to push for the Premier League, a title they have not won since the Invincibles did it in the 2003-4 season.

The former Real Madrid star wants Arsene Wenger and his technical team to pursue a striker in order to turn the club from outsiders to outright contenders.

Bild report that €60m-rated Alexandre Lacazette is the main transfer target to improve the Gunners frontline after the summer signings of Granit Xhaka and Shkodran Mustafi improved the side’s midfield and defensive options.
