Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho was left frustrated after his side settled for a 1-1 draw with Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday.

Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic opened the scoring in the 42nd minute before Leighton Baines netted a late penalty in the 89th minute for both sides to share the spoils.

The Portuguese manager firmly believes his side deserved to win against the Toffees, judging by their performance and chances created in the final third.

‘If you tell me that in any one of our draws, the opponent was closer to winning than us, I will tell you that is completely untrue,’ Mourinho told the Manchester United website.

‘In every one of our draws, we were much more closer to winning than the opponent and we deserve to win these matches. I repeat, this season what matters is the results, it’s not the quality of football.’

Manchester United will next take on Zorya Luhansk in the Europa league on Thursday.

The match at the Chornomorets Stadium kicks off at 20:00.
