Manchester City cruised to a comfortable 3-0 victory over Hull City at the KCOM Stadium in the Premier League on Monday evening.

The Citizens got off to a rocky start and were dealt a major blow in the 15th minute when defender John Stones was forced off the field with an injury and had to be replaced by Aleksander Kolarov.

Pep Guardiola’s side started seeing more possession of the ball and forced Hull goalkeeper Craig Marshall into a few saves after 23 minutes of play.

Neither side could create any clear cut chance in attack and were forced to go into the half-time interval with the scoreline locked at 0-0.

However, City came close breaking the deadlock 10 minutes into the second half when Kevin De Bruyne sent his curling effort at goal but was denied by the woodwork.

City finally opened the scoring in the 73rd minute when they were awarded a penalty after Raheem Sterling was brought down in the area by Andre Robertson. Yaya Toure stepped up to take the penalty and made no mistake from the spot-kick to make it 1-0.

However, the visiting side doubled their lead four minutes later when Kelechi Iheanacho put the ball into the back of the net after latching onto a David Silvas cross from close range to make it 2-0.

City all but sealed their victory and managed to grab a third goal in stoppage time when Hull’s Curtis Davies put the ball into his own net after he turned home Sterling cross as City walked away with all three points.
