Bafana Bafana will be without coach Shakes Mashaba when they take on Mozambique after ‘a regrettable incident’ at Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday.

However, the South African national team ran out 2-1 winners over Senegal in their World Cup qualifying match on Saturday and have now moved to second place in Group level on points with first-placed Burkina Faso.

Assistant coach Owen da Gama will take charge of the team for their international friendly match against Os Mambas on Tuesday  in Maputo.

‘As is our custom in matters such as these, the Association will not be making any further comments on this matter out of respect for the dignity of the Head Coach and the Association and the legally privileged nature of such proceedings,’ reports Safa.net.

Bafana Bafana will now travel to Maputo when they take on Mozambique in an international friendly match on Tuesday.

Kick-off has been set for 19:00.
