Amajita coach Thabo Senong has named his provisional squad for the upcoming Fifa U20 World Cup in Poland.

Senong listed a total of 75 players who form part of his provisional squad, which will then be cut down to 50 players that are to be submitted as the initial squad to Fifa by 1 April 2019.

However, the Amajita coach will then further trim his squad down to the final 21-man squad to represent South Africa on the global stage taking place in May this year.

Speaking to the media, Senong said: ‘I am happy with the players we have identified for our provisional squad.

‘We are now in the process of trimming it down to 50, which is required by Fifa as our initial squad. We are working really hard to make sure that we send out a balanced group of players who will help us prepare well and be ready for the upcoming World Cup event.

‘The final 21-man squad is expected to be submitted on 12 May 2019.’
