South African Under-20 goalkeeper Fletcher Lowe has signed a new contract with Portuguese side Estoril Praia.
The Amajita shot-stopper put pen to paper on a three-year contract that will see him remain at the club until June 2028.
Lowe earned a new deal with the club after his standout performance for Amajita during the 2025 U20 Africa Cup of Nations.
The 18-year-old played a crucial role in helping Amajita secure the U20 AFCON title following their 1-0 win over Morocco in the final.
His exploits throughout the competition also earned him the prestigious Goalkeeper of the Tournament award.
“I felt very good since I arrived at Estoril Praia. I was welcomed with open arms by the entire structure.”
“My coaches taught me a different way of playing football and I grew a lot on a human level.
“There is no feeling like playing for the U23s. We all worked hard to reach this step and I am very grateful to have had the opportunity to play. Here, I found the stability I needed and I hope that, together, we can achieve our goals.”
The Primeira Liga outfit released the following statement on Lowe’s commitment to the club:
Estoril Praia athlete Fletcher Lowe will remain with the Linha team for another three seasons, until June 2028.
Having played for AD Oeiras, FC Alverca and SL Benfica, he arrived at Estoril Praia this season, playing for the juniors in 12 matches, before reaching the under-23s where he played two matches against SCU Torreense and SL Benfica.
Lowe recently won the Under-20 African Nations Championship, being named the best goalkeeper of the tournament held on Egyptian soil.
We’re in this together, Fletcher!
