Orlando Pirates won’t make the same mistake as Kaizer Chiefs on Tuesday by underestimating their opponents in their Caf Champions league clash against Light Stars, says Milutin Sredojevic.

The Buccaneers head into the second-leg clash with a healthy 5-1 lead, but coach Micho insists that his team will not get carried away, and called on them to show the same respect for their opponents as they would a usual Absa Premiership clash.

Pirates’ arch-rivals Chiefs clinched their spot in the next round of the Caf Confederation Cup with a 5-2 aggregate victory against Zimamoto. Sredojevic will be cautious of making the same mistake as his rivals  in the second leg as they succumbed to a 2-1 loss to the lowly team from Zanzibar.

In the highly likely case that Pirates book their spot in the next round of the continental cup competitions, the Sea Robbers will do duty against either Volcan Stars or African Stars, who played to a stalemate in their first-leg encounter.

Should Pirates advance to the next round, they will face the winner between Volcan Stars and African Stars.

‘The squad is ready and the players are showing that they all want to win this away match,’ Micho told the club’s official website.

‘We don’t undermine any team; this isn’t a Pirates thing to do.

‘We respect every opponent that we face – this is why we are approaching this match the same way as we would approach any league match.’

‘While we carry all the expectations from our supporters to perform, Light Stars come into this game without any pressure. But be that as it may, we are a team used to pressure. Pressure is part and parcel of being part of a big team. We are ready,’ he exclaimed.
