Manchester United became the first team in Champions League history to turn around a 2-0 home first-leg deficit after their 3-1 victory against Paris Saint-Germain sealed a memorable comeback, and so doing booked their spot in the quarter-finals.

United came into the game at the Parc des Princes with a much-changed starting lineup, as they were without a host of injured stars and the suspended Paul Pogba also missing out.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men got off to the perfect start, however, when Romelu Lukaku fired them into the lead on the night with just two minutes played, cutting the PSG’s aggregate advantage to 2-1.

Thomas Tuchel’s men only needed 10 minutes to hit back as Juan Bernat netted the equaliser that seemed to kill all early momentum by their English opponents.

United took the lead again as experienced goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon spilled a long range Marcus Rashford effort, allowing Lukaku to pounce and net his second for the night.

The Red Devils were forced to defend for the vast majority of the second half, but completed the historic comeback in injury time as Rashford tucked home from the spot after a VAR-reviewed penalty decision.
