Mamelodi Sundowns played out to only their fourth draw in the DStv Premiership after they were held to a 1-1 draw against Tshwane rivals SuperSport United at Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Wednesday.

The Brazilians broke the deadlock on the half-hour mark when Teboho Mokoena unleashed his trademark strike from distance to beat United keeper Washington Arubi.

SuperSport did draw the game level four minutes later through Bradley Grobler after he latched on to a Lyle Lakay free-kick to find the back of the net.

The result sees Sundowns remain at the top of the league standings with 46 points from 18 games, while SuperSport are placed third with 33 points after 20 matches.
