Bafana Bafana star Percy Tau bagged a brace for Belgian side Royale Union Saint-Gilloise in their 3-2 win over Knokke to reach the Belgian Cup quarter-finals for the first time in 50 years.

The Belgian outfit managed to claim a home win through a second-half brace by the Bafana Bafana international, who scored the second and third goal to see his side progress to the quarter-final.

Union were the first to find the net when Roman Ferber broke the deadlock after 11th minutes, before the visitors equalised close to the half-time interval.

However, Union came out in the second half dominating proceedings and restored their lead when Ferber set up Tau to find the net in the 59th minute before completing his brace 10 minutes later to give Union a comfortable two-goal lead.

The former Mamelodi Sundowns forward has now taken his goal tally to six in his 15th start for the Belgian side for the current season.

Union Saint-Gilloise will now face Belgian first division outfit Racing Genk in the next round after reaching the quarter-finals of the Belgian Cup.
