Kaizer Chiefs reserve team coach Arthur Zwane says his side ‘will not be derailed’ following their slow start to the 2017-18 campaign.

The Amakhosi’s MultiChoice Diski side recently suffered a 2-1 defeat against Cape Town City’s reserve side at the Dobsonville Stadium.

The 44-year-old coach says he is using his side’s recent setback as a learning curve after conceding their third defeat of the season.

‘We will not be derailed though,’ Zwane told the club’s official website.

‘We know the results won’t sit well with our stakeholders, but I want to assure everyone that we are using these kinds of setbacks to learn.

‘Checking the log standings, it doesn’t look good, but we will overcome these obstacles to reach our objectives.’

Zwane went on to say that Njabulo Blom looked like a ‘seasoned campaigner’ after making his debut for Amakhosi’s MDC side on Saturday.

He also confirmed that striker Ryan Moon is in the process of making a recovery to full match fitness.

‘We had a debutant in the centre of defence, the 17-year-old Njabulo Blom. He partnered the one-year younger Thabo Mokwena, who has been playing before for the MDC side. They both played like seasoned campaigners,’ he added.

‘Moon is progressing well and showed signs of returning to full fitness.’
