Orlando Pirates coach Josef Zinnbauer is not happy with the outcome and feels his side should have walked away with maximum points against Mamelodi Sundowns.

The Buccaneers were forced to share the spoils with Sundowns after playing out to a goalless draw at Dobsonville Stadium on Tuesday evening.

The result moves Pirates up to third place in the Absa Premiership standings with 41 points from 24 matches played so far this season, closing the gap on Kaizer Chiefs to just seven points.

However, Zinnbauer has praised his side’s display against Pitso Mosimane’s men but feels they missed good opportunities to snatch all three points away from Sundowns.

‘It was a decision from us, the staff and the coaches, we have to see next game, we need now a lot of players at this difficult time,’ Zinnbauer told SuperSport TV. ‘You have a game every three days and you need the whole squad and all the players have a chance [to play].

‘We can see it is a long time since we played, the first half was so … 0-0 was OK. Second half I thought we were much better and had chances to win the game, but Sundowns have always a chance, it was a very difficult game for us.

‘But at the end of the day we hit the post, when you have a little luck you win the game.

‘I am not 100% happy and it was not 100% bad for me. We have the next game in three days and then it is the focus of the doctor and the new game.’

Orlando Pirates will now turn their attention to the upcoming Absa Premiership fixture against Bidvest Wits at Ellis Park on Saturday, with kick-off set for 6pm.
