The Premier Soccer League has charged Bidvest Wits goalkeeper Ricardo Goss and winger Sameehg Doutie with alleged assault on a match official.

Clever Boys duo Goss and Doutie have both been charged for allegedly shoving referee Masixole Bambiso after he awarded a penalty to Cape Town City during their Absa Premiership encounter this past weekend.

The incident happened in the 60th minute when Goss was shown a yellow card while Doutie was cautioned following their protest.

The league subsequently released the following statement:

‘The PSL has instituted charges against two Bidvest Wits players, Ricardo Goss and Sameehg Doutie.

‘They have been charged with misconduct after they allegedly assaulted match official Masixole Bambiso during the Absa Premiership fixture against Cape Town City last weekend.’
