Watch as AmaZulu president Sandile Zungu reveals that the club has parted ways with coach Benni McCarthy, adding that it was clear the team need change.

The former Cape Town City coach hit the ground running when he came into Ushutu guiding them to a second-place finish in the league last season, qualifying for the Caf Champions League for the first time in their history.

AmaZulu, however, have struggled in the league this season drawing 14 of the 23 league games, picking up only 5 wins to sit ninth in the table 22 points behind log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns.

While there were signs of hope for McCarthy in Champions League, but they ultimately failed to get of the group stage as a 2-0 loss to Raja Casablanca ensured their elimination with a game to spare.

After media reports broke on Friday morning that the two parties had parted ways, the club president confirmed the news in a video on social media.
