Mamelodi Sundowns has been charged by the Premier Soccer League for fielding Thabang Sibanyoni in the MultiChoice Diski Challenge.

The Premier Soccer League will charge both Sundowns and Thabang Sibanyoni with contravening Rule 55.1 of the FIFA Disciplinary Code and the NSL Rule 54.1.4.

Both parties were charged after the Brazilians fielder Sibanyoni in the MDC fixture on December 4, despite the player having accumulated four yellow cards and therefore making him ineligible to play.

Sundowns and Sibanyoni will now appear in front of a Disciplinary Committee convened by the League on February 8, 2017.
