Orlando Pirates full-back Paseka Mako says his side are shifting their focus to the Nedbank Cup final after defeating Kaizer Chiefs in the semi-finals at the FNB Stadium on Saturday.

The 29-year-old put in a man of the match performance as the Buccaneers claimed the bragging rights in the Soweto derby clash against arch-rivals Amakhosi.

As a result, the Sea Robbers have now booked their place in the final where they will face either Stellenbosch FC or Sekhukhune United at Loftus Versfeld Stadium on 27 May.

Mako says he is happy to have contributed to the teams success but credits his teammates for his stellar performance at the FNB Stadium.

“Thank you to my teammates, I’m happy that we won and we’re going to the final,” Mako told SuperSport TV.

“I think we have to prepare for the final.

“Sorry to say this [but] the time they drew us, they were happy and now I think we did it for the supporters and for the Orlando Pirates family.”

“I think when Bandile got injured, coach told that I have to go to the right side to help there.

“It’s not the first time I’m playing at right-back. It’s not all about me, it’s all about the team.

“I have to help the team to win.”
