Orlando Pirates forward Ndumiso Mabena is relishing the chance to end Kaizer Chiefs’ dominance in the Soweto derby and walk away with s positive result and maximum points away from home.

The Buccaneers will come into this fixture having secured back-to-back wins in the DStv Premiership following their 2-1 victory over Maritzburg United at the Orlando Stadium this past weekend.

Chiefs, meanwhile, will look to bounce back after Golden Arrows came from behind to secure a thrilling 3-2 victory at the Peter Mokaba Stadium over the weekend.

Pirates currently sit in third position with 31 points after 20 matches, while Chiefs occupy fifth place in the DStv Premiership standings with 28 points from 20 matches

Mabena has also sent a message of support to the young players in the team, urging them to enjoy themselves and represent the club with honour against Amakhosi.

“It’s a big one, there is a lot at stake, we playing for pride, we playing for families, we playing for the supporters and most importantly we playing for the badge of Orland Pirates football.

“But to the young ones I would just like to say they must go out there, they must enjoy themselves, play to the best of their ability and know that they not doing it for themselves they are doing it for the club, which is Orlando Pirates football club.

“We coming into this one knowing we won two consecutive games in a row and I think it will be the best result we can get against our arch-rivals Kaizer Chiefs.

“We know very well that they have won four derbies in a row and they want to make history by winning the fifth but we won’t let that happen.

“The confidence we have amongst us as players, technical staff and the coaches, I think we going out there knowing very well what is at stake, which is the three points and going back home with a smile.”
