Bidvest Wits winger Kgaogelo Sekgota insists his side will remain ‘competitive and professional’ as they look to finish the 2019-20 season on a high note.

The Clever Boys will resume the campaign in a Nedbank Cup semi-final clash with Mamelodi Sundowns on 8 August before taking a trip to the Orlando Stadium to face Kaizer Chiefs in the Absa Premiership on 12 August.

The 23-year-old, who featured 15 times for Wits across all competitions, was in good form before the nationwide lockdown enforced by Covid-19 suspended all football in South Africa since mid-March.

However, Sekgota is delighted to be back at training and is looking forward to taking the field once the league resumes.

‘It is good to be back after a long time, football is something that we love and live for, so this is a great feeling,’ Sekgota told his club’s official website.

‘It is all about the dedication that you have, your goals in life. You have to stay strong. Challenges come and go, you just need to be mentally strong and remain focused. We are in the Nedbank Cup semi-finals and we still have a few league games left, so there is still a lot to play for.

‘Obviously we are a big team with a good coach that has a lot of experience. We have a squad full of national team players, so we will remain competitive and professional up until the end of the season,’ he concluded.
