Bafana Bafana international Kgaogelo Sekgota is set to leave Bidvest Wits and return to Vitoria Setubal in Portugal.

The 23-year-old was signed by the Clever Boys from the Portuguese outfit on a short-term loan deal during the 2020 January transfer window, and was expected to remain at the club until the end of the season.

However, due to the coronavirus pandemic and the club’s sale of their PSL status to Tshakhuma Tsha Madzhivhandila (TTM), the talented attacker decided to return to his parent club in Europe.

Sekgota’s agent, Bally Smart, has since confirmed that the Seshego-born player will rejoin Setubal as he has two years left on his current contract with the Portuguese club.

‘Sekgota will go back to Portugal when the season ends here in South Africa,’ Smart told SuperSport.com.

‘He still has two years left on his contract with Vitoria Setubal, so when his loan ends, he will rejoin Setubal for pre-season.’

During his short spell with the Students, Sekgota featured seven times across all competitions this season under coach Gavin Hunt.
