Orlando Pirates great Andries Sebola has backed coach Muhsin Ertugral’s approach to the side following their strong start to the season.

Ertugral has employed a 4-2-3-1 formation since arriving at Bucs and has managed to get his players producing some of their best form. Thus far, the side are the only team to have secured back-to-back victories in the Premiership.

‘So I think he is in the right direction as long as the players can acclimatise to his tactics to help Pirates to go forward and win games, and also scoring some goals,’ Sebola told Goal.

‘He [Ertugral] is on the right track with that formation he is using now.’

Pirates have utilised Tendai Ndoro as a loan striker up front while they have seemingly found the right balance in their midfield with the combination of Mpho Makola and captain Oupa Manyisa.

‘I think he is coming right more especially with the combination that’s there up-front. If you check it’s Ndoro, Manyisa and Makola combination which is going to be good for Pirates because they have got pace and can attack, and defend at the same time,’ Sebola added.

The Buccaneers currently boast the best offensive statistics in the league having netted five times in two games – with all five having been scored by Ndoro.

Bucs are next in action when they face Cape Town City in the Premiership on Tuesday.

Kick-off at Orlando Stadium is at 19:30.
