New Chippa United signing Maselaelo Seanego has revealed his appreciation for the opportunity afforded to him by previous club Orlando Pirates.

The Port Elizabeth outfit confirmed that they had signed the man known as Shakes, in footballing circles, on a short-term deal from The Soweto giants.

Seanego revealed his delight at being able to revive his career under Teboho Moloi, in addition to speaking about his former club Pirates.

‘It’s awesome to be here, and I am absolutely delighted,’ he told the club’s official website.

‘I see this as an opportunity to revive my career. I trained with Chippa before the start of last season, but the move did not materialise.

‘I would like to thank the chairman, Mr Mpengesi for affording me the opportunity to be a Chilli Boy. I am grateful to Coach Teboho and his technical team, and of course the players, for [the] manner in which they welcomed me to Port Elizabeth,’ said Seanego, as quoted on Chippa’s official website.

‘I am grateful to Pirates, they gave me my first contract, and when I returned to the club in July last year we mutually agreed to part ways.

‘I am now working hard to regain my confidence, and this has been made easy here at Chippa as I am familiar with most the guys. I played with [Zitha] Macheke at Chiefs Devo [Development]. I was with Menzi [Masuku] and some other guys at Pirates. I knew Paseka Mako as we played against each at school level.

‘We are united towards one goal to do well this season and qualify for CAF competition.

‘The vibe in the team is good and conducive for us to do really well this season and I want to be part of history here. I want to be part of the first generation to win our chairman and wonderful supporters a trophy.

‘We can achieve this with hard work, determination and respect. I am working hard in training and supporting the lads at this moment.

‘We are in this together and to succeed we must support one another, and when my opportunity comes I will grab with both hands,’ he concluded.
