Orlando Pirates midfielder Thabo Qalinge could make his long-awaited return ahead of their Absa Premiership clash against Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday.

The 26-year-old was named on the bench as the Buccaneers recorded a 3-1 victory over Baroka on Saturday after recovering from a groin strain which kept him out of action for almost two months.

The club released the following statements on their official website: ‘Thabo Qalinge has been cleared to return to full fitness with the rest of the squad following a three week stint where he was undergoing rehabilitation with the Strength and Conditioning team.

‘Section 10, as he is affectionately known as, was included in the 18-man squad against Baroka FC at the weekend following his recovery from a groin strain which kept him out of action for close to two months.

‘Further good news for the Buccaneers is that Thembinkosi Lorch is nearing full fitness after being released from physiotherapy. He is now undergoing rehabilitation to fast track his return to full fitness.

‘Meanwhile, according to the medical department, midfielder Bernard Morrison and defender Ntsikelelo Nyauza continue to receive treatment for their respective injures.’

Orlando Pirates will travel to Loftus Versfeld Stadium when they face Mamelodi Sundowns in the Absa Premiership on Saturday, with kick-off set for 15:30.
