Bidvest Wits winger Vincent Pule has confirmed that he will join Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs in the new season.

Gavin Hunt sent the media into a frenzy when he suggested that Pule had signed a pre-contract with a big club, after entering into the final six months of his contract.

The 25-year-old confirmed his move to the Naturena outfit, stating that he needed to take the step up in his career.

‘As a person, you have to try new challenges and this [move to Chiefs] is my next one,’ he told The Sowetan.

‘The time had come for me to take my game to the next step.’

Pule has been a breath of fresh air for the defending PSL Champions. Despite joining the club from African Warriors in 2014, Pule has only become a regular in Hunt’s starting lineup for the last two seasons.

The winger highlighted his ambition to help the club do well in the Caf Champions League.

‘At the moment the spirit is high; at least we are doing better. While it may appear to be a distraction, the team is looking forward to the competition.

‘As players, we look forward to every opportunity to play football so it is not a burden to play in Caf.

‘It is another challenge that we welcome with open arms,’ he concluded.
