Kaizer Chiefs suffered their first defeat of the season against Polokwane City, while Orlando Pirates returned to winning ways following their 2-1 victory over Chippa United.

Saturday, 14 September

SuperSport United vs Cape Town City

SuperSport United fought back to hold Cape Town City to a thrilling 3-3 draw in their Absa Premiership match at the Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit, when goals from Sipho Mbule, Bradley Grobler and Thamsanqa Gabuza cancelled out Thabo Nodada’s brace and a goal from Kermit Erasmus.

The draw moved Matsatsantsa to fourth place in the league standings, while the Citizens progressed to eighth spot.

Kaizer Chiefs vs Polokwane City

Polokwane City stunned Kaizer Chiefs after claiming a narrow 1-0 victory over the Soweto giants in their league encounter at the FNB Stadium.

The win took Rise and Shine to second place in the league standings, while Amakhosi remained at the top despite suffering their first defeat of the new season.

Golden Arrows vs AmaZulu

Golden Arrows and AmaZulu were forced to share the spoils in the latest Durdan derby after playing out to a 1-1 draw at the Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium, after Bonginkosi Ntuli’s penalty cancelled out Nduduzo Sibiya’s 37th-minute penalty.

The draw gave Arrows eight place in the league standings with eight points, while Usuthu remain at the foot of the table with two points.

Orlando Pirates vs Chippa United

Tshegofatso Mabasa scored two goals as Orlando Pirates returned to winning form in the Absa Premiership after defeating Chippa United 2-1 at the Orlando Stadium.

The win moves the Buccaneers up to seventh in the league standings with eight points, while the Chili Boys sit in 13th place with only three points after five matches.

Black Leopards vs Baroka

Baroka finally ended their losing streak against Black Leopards in the Absa Premiership after beating their Limpopo rivals 2-0 at Thohoyandou Stadium in the Limpopo Province.

Goals from Mfanafuthi Shozi and Tshidiso Patjie helped Bakgaga to secure victory and move up to sixth place in the log standings, while Lidoda Duvha remain in 12th.

Bloemfontein Celtic vs Stellenbosch FC

Bloemfontein Celtic came from a goal down to beat Stellebosch FC 2-1 in their Absa Premiership clash at the Dr Molemela Stadium in Bloemfontein.

Maloisane Ramasimong and Siphelele Luthuli scored within two minutes of the second half to lead Siwelele to all three points after Wazeem Isaacs had given the visitors the lead in the City of Roses.
